Description: Justicia spicigera or the Mexican honeysuckle herb

Our dried Honeysuckle or Muicle herb was harvested and wildcrafted from Mexico. It can also be found in the neighboring countries of Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. The shrub is mainly composed of red or yellow pole-like flowers with leaves and small twigs and made part of the Hispanic culture. Mexican honeysuckle was either made into tea to drink or made into a dye because including flowers into extracts give an indigo dye to color clothes, weaves, paintings, and baskets that are made into handmade crafts.
